Women in Ministry - Working Together in the Body of Christ
501c3 Non-Profit Charitable Organization
It is good to see a husband and wife who devote their full attention to a common cause, agreeing on a course of action and pulling together in the same direction. I’m remembering in the early church, Priscilla and Aquila seem to be the dream team when it came to Christian couples. Working together, they played an important role in the early Christian church.
In today’s church, we as Pastors’ Wives and Women in Ministry also have a vital part in the ministry. Our adversary, the devil, has entered our local churches to divide and to conquer the head of the flock. As Pastors’ Wives and Women in Ministry, we must unite together in a common force against the devil and against every demonic spirit that comes to kill, steal and destroy the men and women of God in the Ministry.
So many times as Pastors’ Wives and Women in Ministry, we need a support group when we are facing difficult times. Sometimes we may feel that we are all alone in our local church and have no one to turn to when we need spiritual help and guidance. It is imperative that all Pastors’ Wives and Women in Ministry have an outlet, and to be encouraged and empowered with the Power of God”. This will help us in our personal lives to be victorious over Satan's tricks in our local churches, marriages and our families. Bishops' Wives, Pastors Wives, Ministers' Wives, Evangelist, Missionaries, "all" women in ministry need each other and we will become a lifelong support group.
First Ladies Inc. was inspired by God and birthed in President Patricia Batts through life's circumstances. Through much prayer and counseling, God has always worked it out, and the devil always just tucked his tail and run!! God worked a mighty work of deliverance, and put the devil to an open shame. All praise goes to God for deliverance. God often allows us to experience circumstances, trials and tribulations, just to move us to the next phase in His plan for our lives. We should fine comfort in knowing when God allows us to experience trials, trouble, despair, and grief, God is only developing and molding our spiritual character to be that chosen vessel who will stand and not fall in adversity.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” God has a Specific Plan that He has for each of us to accomplish. We have a specific purpose for being on God’s earth. We all must follow God's lead. We need to be prepared to endure everything with patience while joyfully giving thanks to the Father. God will allow trials and tribulations in each of our lives. President Batts turned what satan meant for bad, into something positive and good, and First Ladies, Inc. was birthed.
Today, First Lady Batts is inspired to do whatever God has instructed her to do to help Pastors' Wives, Women in Ministry and all women nationwide to overcome their circumstances. First Ladies, Inc. is a powerful 501c3 Non-Profit Charitable Organization that is registered in the State of Tennessee. God has ordained First Ladies, Inc. for this time in history. First Ladies Inc. is designed to empower, energize, counsel, instruct, teach, motivate and assist all women in ministry as we do God's Will.
Biography
Evangelist Missionary Patricia Potts Batts was born and raised in Indianola, Mississippi. She is the third child of nineteen (19). Evangelist Batts was always considered “the square one”, because she was afraid not to do whatever Mom and Dad said; she just obeyed and did not try to sneak and do stuff. Her parents, Elder Charles Potts, Sr. and Mother Mattie Potts raised the family in church, instilled biblical principles in their lives, as well as encouraged the children to get a good education. Evangelist Batts, attended Mississippi Valley State University for three years, and later completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Memphis, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, concentrating in Personnel and Human Relations.
While growing up, Evangelist Batts loved to go to church, and she loved to teach in her local church. When she was a teenager, she was placed as the teacher for the elementary Sunday school class, and later she was appointed the teacher for the teenagers' Sunday school class. She had a passion to teach the scripture to the youth. In 1998, when she became a member of Greater Harvest COGIC, she was appointed as the teacher for the Young Adults Sunday School class. Little did Evangelist Batts know, God was preparing her for her present role in the church and in the community.
Thirty-three years ago, she married her college sweetheart, Bishop Timothy Titus Batts, Sr. who is the Founder and Pastor of the Freedom Temple Christian COGIC. Three sons were born to their union (Timothy, Darrell, Kenneth), and they have one granddaughter Genesis Gabrielle, and a beautiful daughter-in-law (Erica).
While in Tennessee Fifth Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Samuel Lowe, she served in the Evangelist Faith District Women’s Department with Mother Glossy Bell on several committees. God has blessed Evangelist Batts to work in several areas such as, counselor, choir member, teacher, helper, volunteer, Real Estate Agent, Federal Investigator, EEO Advisor, Policy & Procedure Administrator, and as a Diversity/Affinity Groups Advisor.
